In her first studio album since 2004, Canadian artist Alanis Morissette returns with a more diverse, globally infused sound, courtesy of producer Guy Sigsworth, who has also worked with Madonna. Synths and beat-driven hooks add a pleasant, electronic fuzz to the artist’s lyrics, but Morissette truly shines on slower numbers, like the haunting and honest “Not As We”. (WARNER MUSIC)
VERDICT: No ‘Jagged Little Pill’, but we’re glad to have her back.
