The Office Bids Farewell to Michael Scott

NBC has officially announced the final date that Steve Carell will play his beloved character Michael Scott on television. Bookmark April 28th on your calendar, because that episode of The Office will also be playing 20 minutes longer. Yes, the runtime will be 50 minutes instead of its usual half-hour.

We’re so torn… should we be excited that we have a super long episode of The Office, or should we be in mourning because we won’t see Steve Carell’s awkward face tell us another “that’s what she said” joke? We’re so torn….

To ease the pain of the loss, Will Farrell will be introduced to the series on April 14th as Deangelo Vickers, an interim manager. But, it’s unlikely that his character will become permanent (dear Office: quit playing games with our hearts). Here’s the trailer for his arrival:

The season finale of The Office will be on May 19th and will guest star both Ricky Gervais and beloved Canadian actor Will Arnett. In the meantime, let’s bask over our favourite Michael Scott quotes:

"In the wild, there is no health care. In the wild, health care is, "Ow, I hurt my leg. I can't run. A lion eats me and I'm dead." Well, I'm not dead. I'm the lion, you're dead."

"I knew exactly what to do but in a much more real sense I had no idea what to do."

"There's such a thing as good grief. Just ask Charlie Brown."

“What's the group… that were from Scranton and made it big? Was that U2?”

“Webster's Dictionary defines 'wedding' as 'the fusing of two metals with a hot torch.' Well you know something? I think you guys are two medals. Gold medals.”

“Sometimes you have to take a break from being the kind of boss that's always trying to teach people things. Sometimes you just have to be the boss of dancing.”
