HOODWINKED is back! Well kind of… take Anne Hathaway as the voice for Red and replace her with Hayden Panettiere, and HOODWINKED is back! Well, almost. Take Jim Belushi’s voice for Kirk the Woodsman and replace it with Martin Shorts, and you’ve got HOODWINKED TOO! HOOD VS. EVIL, opening in theatres tonight.
Where HOODWINKED! the first focused on the classic “who done it?” story line to find the thieving goody bandit, HOODWINKED TOO! is all about the mysterious disappearance of Hansel (Bill Hader) and Gretel (Amy Poehler). Red, currently in training with the Sister Hoods and gets teamed up with Wolf (Patrick Warburton, FAMILY GUY) to examine the situation.
Glenn Close is reprising her role as Granny, and Andy Dick returns as Boingo the Bunny. Other HOODWINKED newbies include Joan Cusak, Cheech and Chong, and Bill Hader and Amy Poehler as Hansel and Gretel. (Whether or not you like the sequel, director Mike Disa did his research for a standup cast).
So far, reviews have been kind of mixed, but leaning a bit toward negative side. If you see it and love it, be sure to voice your opinion!
