10. Scangrade – CLONE HIGH
Anyone who has the catch phrase, “Infidels! It is I, Scangrade…the magnificent!” should make every top 10 list no matter what the theme.
9. R2-D2 – STAR WARS SERIES
R2-D2 has what we call the “STAR WARS bump”, so he’s doomed for greatness, being in a museum display case and all.
8. Kevin – SAVED BY THE BELL
Did an early 90’s, uber-cheesy sitcom need a robot that’s appearance was killed after only two seasons? Yes, obviously.
7. Bubo – CLASH OF THE TITANS
How a mechanical owl made its way into Greek mythology is beyond us, but we’re not complaining.
6. Iron Giant – IRON GIANT
Beyond having the loveable “robot emotions”, it’s the Iron Giants heroism that sets him from the others.
5. Wall-E – WALL-E
Never has a robot made us “aww” so much.
4. Raston Warrior Robot – DR. WHO
The Third Doctor described these robots to be "the most perfect killing machine ever devised". We’d like to see it in a robot war with Kevin from SAVED BY THE BELL.
3. Chief Knock-A-Homer – THE SIMPSONS
This robot wasn’t so much a “robot” robot as much as it was a mailbox with Homer Simpson stuffed inside. Technically, that makes it a cyborg, but we’ll let it slide because he’s wearing a headdress.
2. Johnny 5 – SHORT CIRCUT
Proving that robots can give birth, this robot provided the world with the famous line “Johnny 5 is Alive!” or as we at The Mag like to typo, “Johnny 5 is Alvie!”
1. Bender – FUTURAMA
Bender is for sure the closest to being an actual human, so he tops the list. Through his bitter anger, glutinous joy, and undeserved sense of satisfaction, he’s the anti-hero you love to love.
