Scare-O-Pedia: X, Y and Z

By Kathy Murray

X, Y and Z are for..

Xilinx
Apparitions are a common sight at this old mental hospital in New Mexico. Banging from the bathroom walls and the sounds of groans and moans can be heard as well. Objects move by themselves and they sometimes disappear, only to reappear later in the strangest places.

Xinhai Tunnel
The Xinhai Tunnel in Taiwan is built on a large cemetery. Drivers encounter an old woman sweeping the middle of the tunnel who refuses to move and just when they are about to hit her, she disappears. Drivers also report that no matter how close they come to the exit, they feel like they are actually getting farther and farther away from it.

Yorktown Battlefield
Untold carnage during the American Revolution and the Civil War took place on this battlefield in Virginia, where it has been said that if you sit on a hill and stare at the moon for a minute, and then back at the field, you can see the soldiers still engaged in battle.

Yojoa Asylum
Most of the property of this old asylum in Honduras is now a public park, but the remaining medical section is certainly haunted. If you look up at the windows of the building, you can see men and women in white suits staring down at you.

York Prison
It is said that as you walk up the second floor stairs of this abandoned Pennsylvanian prison, you will hear three sets of footsteps following you. Red glowing orbs have also been seen in the cells here.

Zech Road
On this road, the story goes that two children died in a barn fire. Now the sounds of their playing can be heard coming from inside the barn.

Zombies
You knew it was coming! Zombies are reanimated corpses that can only be destroyed by a blow to the head.

This concludes SCREAMGAL’S SCARE-O-PEDIA!
