Chord Overstreet's leaving GLEE

Next season will be a pinnacle one for GLEE! The musical gang will be graduating after the series, bringing in a new pack of talented teens from THE GLEE PROJECT reality show. But that’s not all that will be changing, as Chord Overstreet (Sam) won’t be returning as a regular character.

The show didn’t say why his contract wasn’t renewed, but Overstreet seems to be in good spirits, tweeting “Well its been a good yr too bad its over. Time for summer and starting fresh”. Strange that he’s gone, considering the season 2 premier left off with his starting a relationship with Mercedes (Amber Riley). We have yet to see how that played out.

But, officially promoted to regular characters are Warbler leader Darren Criss (Blaine) and super-dancer Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang).

Other season 3 spoilers include Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) getting a new rival and love interest, more focus on the storyline and less tribute episodes, the GLEE PROJECT winner coming on for at least seven episodes, and less guest stars (with the exception of one big guest star who they won’t reveal yet).

Season 3 starts up on September 20th on Fox, and a date TBA on Global!
