Interview with Brady Reiter of TOOTH FAIRY 2

How much fun would it be to star in a movie alongside Larry the Cable Guy (Mater, CARS series)… especially if he has to spend a large portion of the movie in a tutu? According to Brady Reiter, it was a pretty good time. She played a fairy named Nyx in the TOOTH FAIRY sequel TOOTH FAIRY 2, on DVD/Blu-ray today!

TOOTH FAIRY 2 tells the story of Larry Guthrie (Larry the Cable Guy), a small town blue-collar guy who looses the love of his life to the town hot shot. In an attempt to win her heart, he takes up volunteering with children at her after-school program. But, Larry makes the mistake of accidentally telling a child that the Tooth Fairy isn’t real and is then sentenced of a life being the very thing he didn’t believe in: the Tooth Fairy.

The Mag got the chance to speak with Brady Reiter about her experience on TOOTH FAIRY 2! Here’s what she had to say about the movie, acting alongside Larry, and much more…

What was it like working on the movie?
It was absolutely amazing! It was the best 5 weeks of my life. I love the business and I love being on set!

Can you tell me about your character?
My character is a 500 year old fairy that used to be a tooth fairy, but spoke up against the system a little so as her punishment she has become a case worker for Larry the cable guy. He told a kid that the tooth fairy isn’t real, so my character turns him into a tooth fairy. She’s worked with a lot of not-so-smart people before; they didn’t know anything about collecting teeth and she’s sick of it. She’s really done with it. But eventually she starts to like being a case worker and she likes Larry.

Are you anything like your character?
She is like me in the sense that she’s really mature… well she’s 500 years old! She’s kind of an old soul, like me. She’s different, and I’m different so it’s cool to play a unique character. It was fun getting into character because I like dressing up and playing someone else.

What was it like to work with Larry the Cable Guy?
Everyone asks me that! He’s a whole different person. He’s very down to earth and he has kids of his own so he never said anything inappropriate. He’s just a really, really nice person. In hair and makeup he cracked us up! He always would always go of on these tangents.

What was your favourite scene in the movie?
That’s a hard one…the one when I got to fly was really cool!

Was it hard to do the stunt?
It was like a roller coaster. It’s kind of scary but when it’s over you want to do it again. When I think about it, another one of my favourite scenes is when I appear in Larry’s car and get to mock him. It was a really fun scene to do! It’s also my favourite scene to watch because we’re both imitating each other. You can see when people are having fun filming because it’s fun to watch.

What sort of character would you like to play in the future?
I like being different characters. I think commercials are great, but I like playing people that aren’t average kids. I like having a strong, unique character.

What are your favourite things to do apart from acting?
I love, love to read! I also like riding my bike, swimming and shopping.

Have your read any good books lately?
Yea, I read one on my flight to LA [called A MANGO-SHAPED SPACE by Wendy Mass]. It’s about a girl who has synesthesia. Her senses are crossed, so black and white texts would look like they’re all different colours and she sees and hears things. So that was a really cool book, but I cried at the end because the girl’s cat died.

What is your favourite book of all time?
EVERY SOUL A STAR- It’s by the same author as the book I just finished reading.

Thank you, Brady! Be sure to check out TOOTH FAIRY 2 on DVD/Blu-ray today!
