Are hover cars FINALLY here? Commuting in a car that floats above the ground may not sound like the safest idea in the world, but German auto company, Volkswagen, claims that their new hover cars will actually be safer than regular vehicles. They revealed their new hoovering design at a car show in China.
The car would be able to seat two people and would fly above an electromagnetic rail inserted into the ground. That sort of sounds like the hoverboards from the UGLIES book series, does it not? The car certainly would be more eco-friendly, as there would be less gas emission. Though if you’re going to get in a car crash, you’d think that being closer to the ground would be preferable to rocketing about in the air… then again, we'd prefer neither.
This video shows what the hover cars would theoretically look like:
Pretty nifty, right? Who knows, maybe in a few years everyone will drive these things!
