Lego tower stands tall in South Korea

How many Lego’s does it take to break a world record? Around 500,000 (no, that wasn’t a riddle or a rhetorical question.)

There’s a new Lego tower in town and it’s expected to set a new world record. Standing at 31.9 meters high at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium in South Korea, this new Lego tower will soon beat out the current Lego tower record holder: the 31.6-meter high tower in France.

The tower was built by 4000 children to celebrate Lego’s 80th birthday! Legos were first made in the 1920s by a Danish carpenter, Ole Kirk Christiansen. They began as wooden toys, but over the years have become the plastic bricks that we know and love today.
