There has been a fair amount of hype about Google's futuristic glasses. The glasses were meant to have screens which would appear full sized to the wearer and would display Internet sites, maps and other functions that a smartphone would usually have.

Unfortunately, Google X has said that the final product isn’t as great as they thought it would be. Instead of a full lens screen, an image will only appear at the very top of one of the lenses and the colour graphics will be much simpler than the original concept and might not even be in colour at all.

Google X says that the glasses are still a technological novelty, which is true, but it’s disappointing to hear that the Google glasses haven’t lived up to their expectations. You gave it your best shot, Google! We're still proud of you.
