Kitten Saved From Being Recycled

By Dina Ginzburg

For the record, kittens are most definitely not recyclable. A three-week-old kitten was saved from being killed by a recycling van’s crusher. The two men operating the van had just picked up a recycling bin and dumped it into the truck when they heard the sound of a kitten crying. They stopped the blades and got the kitten out.

They named her Lucky and took her to the vet. Lucky was completely unharmed by the incident and now lives at the Devon Contract Waste office. It’s probable that her previous owners had thrown her away because she’s far too little to have crawled in herself.

If her owners didn’t want her, the right thing to do would have been to give her away to a friend, sell her to a better owner or give her up for adoption. Being cruel to animals is just as bad as being cruel to people. Cats have feelings, too!

Lucky was very fortunate indeed to have been saved from such an untimely death!
