Puppy love doesn’t come cheap. In recent years, dogs getting married has become somewhat of a normal occurrence. Yesterday, two dogs named Baby Hope Diamond and Chilly Pasternak tied the knot. You can’t put a price on love, but you certainly can put a price on a wedding: $158,187.26, to be exact.
To put things in perspective, you could easily buy a house with that much! This elaborate fiesta broke the record for most expensive pet wedding of all time. The reception included a sushi buffet, an Ellen DeGeneres pet food buffet and a jazz band. Guests had to each pay $250 because the event doubled as a fundraiser for the Humane Society of New York. Did we mention that Baby Hope Diamond was squeezed into a couture dress and that her doggy husband had his fur dyed and won a contest to “marry” her?
Apparently, the wedding was supposed to celebrate the life of Baby Hope Diamond’s owner’s old dog who died of canine cancer. Guinness World Records representatives bestowed the happy couple with their record breaking award. This was nothing new for Baby Hope Diamond, who has previously broken the record for dog who has taken pictures with the most celebrities.
