JOHN CARTER will forever go down in history as the movie that made Disney very sad. Director Andrew Stanton is determined to get back in moviegoers’ good books with the release of FINDING NEMO 2. FINDING NEMO, also directed by Stanton, became Pixar’s second- highest grossing movie, with TOY STORY 3 in first place. Stanton won an Oscar for FINDING NEMO and again with WALL-E.
If anyone can make a comeback, it’s Andrew Stanton. There’s no word yet on the new movie’s plot. Nemo has already been found, so he and his fish friends can start with a clean slate for more adventures! Animation, even when it’s computer generated, takes a long time so the movie is set to be released sometime in 2016, which seems like eons away!
FINDING NEMO 2 isn’t the only sequel that Pixar could be working on. TOY STORY 4 is rumoured to be in production, at least according to Tom Hanks, who told the BBC the very same thing last year. Nobody from Pixar has actually confirmed this, so we have a feeling that this rumour isn’t as true as fans would like it to be. It’s possible that he was referring to the short TOY STORY films that played before CARS 2 and THE MUPPETS. Only time will tell!
In the meantime, be sure to catch FINDING NEMO 3D in theatres this September to see your favourite Pixar film in a whole new dimension!
