So it’s true… it’s really true! THE HUNGER GAMES has officially replaced the TWILIGHT saga as most popular teen blockbuster franchise. We know, we can hardly believe it either!

In its first two days of sales, THE HUNGER GAMES DVD sold 3.8 million copies. That’s 600,000 more copies than BRAKING DAWN PART 1 and a whole 1.1 million more copies than ECLIPSE when it came out in 2010.

These statistics are quite interesting because often the same people who are TWILIGHT fans are also THE HUNGER GAMES fans. We’re wondering if the DVD sales are so inflated because of the increased popularity of Blu-ray and extra special features.

It's difficult to choose between THE HUNGER GAMES and TWILIGHT because they’re both great and have completely different story lines and themes. However, with the TWILIGHT saga drawing to a close this November, the time is right for a new series to step into the limelight.
